Montagu Road Highcliffe

This project proposes the demolition of the existing chalet-bungalow and the erection of a two-storey detached dwelling with an outdoor swimming pool.

The proposal is in previously occupied land and seeks to utilize the land efficiently. It will occupy the same position as the existing one,  increasing only 6.3% of its footprint.

The proposed dwelling will be finished in white render, with black windows and grey cladding, fascia, and soffit.

The design of the house has been arranged with its principal living accommodation facing southeast to benefit from the sunlight and garden views, with the main living rooms at the ground floor level and bedrooms on the first-floor level.

Big overhangs and a pergola were proposed to provide shading and avoid overheating in the summer. Windows on the side elevations of the building have been limited to bathroom windows with obscured glazing.
